Klosterneuburg Abbey is a Proud Partner!

Klosterneuburg Abbey has been supporting CONCORDIA's work since 2000 by financing building projects and covering running costs - from building maintenance to the construction of the orphanage. The abbey's contribution and donations from parishes, school classes, companies and private individuals enable the children and young people to be provided with food, clothing and teaching materials or even an education that gives them hope for the future.

Klosterneuburg Abbey has also contributed a great deal to this partnership through the proceeds from abbey concerts, the accommodation of children from our project countries during their stay in Austria as part of the CONCORDIA Children's Concert and the financial support of centres in Romania and the Republic of Moldova. The foundation has also been involved in providing emergency aid for people fleeing from Ukraine - for whom we offer assisted living, job coaching, family-like living groups, temporary accommodation and vocational training.

The association "A home for street children", founded to support CONCORDIA, is the largest social project of the monastery and has been involved in many projects in Romania, Bulgaria and the Republic of Moldova from the very beginning. The social commitment of Klosterneuburg Abbey has a tradition stretching back more than 900 years. Klosterneuburg Abbey sees itself as a place of living faith and a place of preservation of unique cultural treasures and has had a variety of tasks as a pastoral, cultural and economic centre since its foundation in the 12th century.
